A seven-member delegation led by ZHOU Chuangbin, president of Nanchang University, visited the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on July 9, 2021.    

During their visit, the delegation interacted with IHB on issues of water ecology, water environment, ecological impact of dam construction in Poyang Lake, and carbon neutrality.    

Specific issues included the degrading ecological integrity and biodiversity restoration of Poyang Lake; effects of extreme hydrological events, waterway construction and ten-year fishing ban on water ecology of Poyang Lake; protection of important aquatic animals and construction of research platforms; control of total nitrogen and phosphorus and eutrophication prevention and control.
