IHB Holds First Editorial Board Meeting of Water Biology and Security

The First Editorial Board Meeting of Water Biology and Security (WBS) was held on August 1, 2021. The meeting was attended by 30 editorial board members from both online and offline venues.
The journal, owned by the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is an open access journal publishing original, high-quality research on all aspects of water biology relating to aquatic organisms and water security.
Prof. GUI Jianfang from IHB and Prof. Robert M. Hughes from Amnis Opes Institute, were appointed as WBS’s editors-in-chief. Editorial board members are from China, France, Brazil, Italy, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Portugal, New Zealand, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Australia, and Denmark.
At the meeting, Prof. Gui received the letter of appointment from YIN Zhan, director of IHB. Gui later presented the letters of appointment to the WBS associate editor and editorial board members of China.
LIU Rui, editorial office manager, summarized the progress of the journal. Attendees from both online and offline shared their insights on the scopes of the journal, the role of editorial board, manuscript review process, and promotion of the journal.
“We hope WBS will be a journal with international influence in hydrobiology, protection of water ecological environment, and fishery, “ said Gui, the editor-in-chief.
The first issue of WBS is expected to be published in early 2022.
