The editorial board meeting of the journal Acta Hydrobiologica Sinica was held at the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on November 13, 2021.    

More than 40 board members joined the meeting to discuss the work plan for the next year at both online and offline venues.    

“Topics such as ecological restoration and biodiversity conservation of the Yangtze River shall be featured in the journal”, said Prof. CAO Wenxuan, a CAS member of fish biologist.    

In recent years, the development of Acta Hydrobiologica Sinica has faced many challenges. Prof. GUI Jianfang suggested the editorial board play a more active role in promoting the quality of the journal.    

The board members suggested publishing special issues, enlarging the promotion channels and shortening the publication cycle.   

Yin Zhan, editor-in-chief of the journal, stressed that the journal should explore the potential hot topics and shorten its publication cycle in order to enhance its core competitiveness.   

As the meeting concluded, Yin presented the letter of appointment to the members of the new editorial board.
