The second academic committee meeting of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was held on October 21, 2021.    

The meeting was chaired by Prof. CHEN Yiyu, director of the academic committee. 14 academic committee members attended the meeting from both online and offline venues.    

YIN Zhan, director of the institute, reported the development planning of the 14th Five-Year Plan of the institute from the perspectives of positioning and objectives, main directions and tasks, emerging frontier directions and future technologies, institutional reforms and action measures to implement the plan.    

The academic committee members fully discussed the drafting of the development plan, and suggested that researchers orient their studies toward the needs of the country and to international frontier research.
