IHB Holds Fifth Symposium on Aquatic Animal Behavior

The Fifth Symposium on Aquatic Animal Behavior and the 2021 Annual Meeting of the Fifth Aquatic Animal Behavior Committee under the Chinese Fisheries Society were held on November 4 and 5, 2021. The meetings were organized by the Chinese Fisheries Society.
More than 300 people from 28 universities and institutes attended the meetings from both online and offline venues. The opening ceremony was chaired by HU Wei, deputy director of IHB.
XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, gave a welcome speech. Two professors addressed at the opening ceremony included IHB Prof. GUI Jianfang who is also a CAS member, and Prof. ZHANG Dong, director of Aquatic Animal Behavior Committee.
More than 40 experts, scholars and young scientists shared their latest research in the study of aquatic animal behavior.
The organizing committee set up two awards - the "Aquatic Animal Behavior Outstanding Contribution Award" which were presented to 10 professors, and the "Outstanding Organization Award" which were presented to five researchers.
At the closing ceremony, IHB postgraduate student XIANG Lingli won the first prize of the best presentation award. IHB PhD students CHEN Yuling and XIANG Miao won the second prize of the best presentation award, and XU Chunsen won the best question award.
The Symposium on Aquatic Animal Behavior and the Annual Meeting of the Aquatic Animal Behavior Committee under the Chinese Fisheries Society, which represent China’s highest research level in the field of aquatic animal behavior, are held every two years. The fifth meetings are the largest of their kind. It was decided at the meetings that the sixth meeting will be held in Qingdao in 2022.
