The Academic Committee Meeting of State Key Laboratory of Freshwater Ecology and Biotechnology 2021 was held at the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on November 23, 2021. Eight academic committee members attended the meeting from both online and offline venues.    

The meeting was chaired by Prof. GUI Jianfang, director of the academic committee. He gave an overview on the current status of the restructuring of the state key laboratory, and requested opinions from the members regarding "Proposals for the Establishment of the State Key Laboratory".    

The committee members actively contributed suggestions regarding national needs, laboratory positioning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and building a talent team.   

“A good lab should combine national needs, integrate superior disciplines, introduce outstanding young talents, enhance their abilities to undertake and complete major national scientific and technological tasks,”said Gui.
