From August 7 to 11, 2024, the third "Nongshan" Youth Innovation Exchange and Qilian Mountains National Park Ecological Research Salon took place at the Qilian Mountains National Park Long-Term Research Base in Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The event was co-organized by the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) Youth Innovation Promotion Association (YIPA) group and YIPA Wuhan Branch, with support from the Qilian Mountains National Park Qinghai Administration and other YIPA and local groups.
Over 50 experts, scholars, and national park technicians from IHB, the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Lanzhou University, and other institutions gathered to discuss ecological protection research in the Qilian Mountains National Park.
Themed "Water Ecology and Environmental Protection in National Parks and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau," the conference featured discussions on aquatic and terrestrial ecosystem conservation, as well as the latest academic achievements in ecological protection and management.
Youth scholars shared research on glaciers, desert management, wetland conservation, and aquatic ecosystem protection. This exchange aims to foster stronger cooperation and contribute to the sustainable development of China's national parks.
