Hubei Society of Oceanology and Limnology Holds 11th Council Meeting at IHB

The 11th Council Meeting of the Hubei Society of Oceanology and Limnology (HSOL) was held at the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on June 9, 2025. The meeting was chaired by the newly elected president, Prof. XU Jun, deputy director of IHB, and attended by over 30 council members from 13 institutions, including Wuhan University and China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), via online participation.
In his address, president Xu emphasized the society's commitment to strengthening its role as a bridge between academic institutions, enhancing support for member units in project applications, academic exchanges, and research evaluation. He also highlighted the society's dedication to expanding its academic influence and public recognition.
On the same day, LEI Ming, director of the Academic Societies Department, and WANG Fang, deputy director of the Academic Societies Department at the Hubei Association for Science and Technology, visited IHB for an in-depth discussion on the society's development.
Dr. Xu presented an overview of HSOL's current initiatives and future plans, receiving positive feedback from director Lei, who commended the society's contributions and offered valuable suggestions on further advancing its role in scientific innovation and talent development.
Moving forward, the Hubei Society of Oceanology and Limnology remains committed to promoting scientific collaboration and innovation in marine and freshwater research. The society will continue to support advancements in aquatic sciences and sustainable water resource management across China.
