The Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences organized a "Specialized Training Session on Research Archives Management Standards" on July 4, 2025. The event attracted over 60 participants, including principal investigators from various research groups and research finance assistants.

The training was chaired and addressed by Prof. WU Chenxi, a member of the IHB Directorate. He emphasized that research archives serve as vital historical records and intellectual assets for the institute’s innovation and development, playing an irreplaceable strategic role in ensuring the continuity of scientific research. He urged the entire institute to integrate archives management as a fundamental component of scientific activities.

Ms. DUAN Jialin, an experienced archivist at IHB, delivered a specialized guidance report. She provided a systematic explanation of the archiving standards and specific requirements, focusing on the three core principles: completeness, standardization, and accuracy. Her presentation was insightful and well-received, combining theoretical depth with practical guidance.

The interactive session featured lively discussions, during which participants engaged in in-depth exchanges on common issues encountered in the process of organizing research archives. The full participation of several principal investigators underscored the institute’s strong commitment to high-standard archives management.

This training aimed to strengthen researchers’ awareness of archives management and promote high-quality development of archival practices at IHB.
