On July 11, XIE Shouqi, deputy director of the Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, along with heads of relevant administration offices, visited the frontline property management and construction personnel at the main campus and Guanqiao campus. They delivered cooling supplies and expressed their appreciation for the staff’s hard work during the hot summer period.
Recently, Wuhan has experienced continuously high temperatures, leading to an increased risk of accidents such as fires, electric shocks, and heatstroke. Despite the challenging conditions, several key projects, including the Water Ecological Comprehensive Evaluation Platform under IHB’s 14th Five-Year Plan for scientific and educational infrastructure and the 2025 initiative to improve research conditions, are progressing in an orderly manner. Property management teams across all campuses have also been diligently fulfilling their duties to ensure smooth operations.
Xie and his team inspected the construction progress on site, learning about existing challenges and offering guidance. He emphasized the importance of safety awareness, reminding all staff to take necessary precautions, prevent heat-related illnesses, and ensure both construction safety and daily operational stability across the campuses.
