IHB Deputy Director HU Wei Concludes His Tenure

The Institute of Hydrobiology (IHB) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences convened a meeting on November 28 to formally acknowledge the conclusion of deputy director HU Wei's tenure and to initiate the process for selecting his successor. The gathering was attended by senior representatives from the CAS Wuhan Branch, IHB leadership, faculty, and staff.

LI Haibo, president of the CAS Wuhan Branch, presided over the meeting. He announced the organizational decision regarding the conclusion of Hu’s term as deputy director of IHB and presented him with a commemorative plaque in recognition of his dedicated service and contributions to the institute's development. 

In his remarks, Hu reflected on his more than three decades at IHB. He expressed gratitude for the collaborative efforts of colleagues and shared his confidence in the institute's continued trajectory of success. 

On behalf of IHB, MIAO Wei, director of IHB, thanked Hu for his leadership and extended best wishes for his next chapter. XIE Shouqi, deputy director of IHB, presented Hu with a commemorative photo album on behalf of the institute's community. 

Following the recognition proceedings, the meeting transitioned to the next agenda item: initiating the process to identify and recommend candidates for the next Deputy Director of IHB, ensuring continuity in the institute's leadership.
